Unitec Veterinary Hospital makes it to California
It's a small world out there. While checkng some of the links to our website I noticed one for a vet clinic in California. When I had a look at it, there were photos of some of our staff and our waiting room. Obviously someone thought our clinic looks better than theirs!

New After Hours Clinic opens
The animal emergency centre opens on the 3rd September. Situated at 97 Carrington Rd it is Auckland's newest after hours clinic and will provide cover for Unitec Veterinary Hospital when we are closed. It will be open from 6pm to 8am Monday to Friday and 12pm Saturday to 8am Monday.

New Anaesthetic Monitoring Equipment
WE have also just recieved the first of two additional capnograph/gas analysis machines. These state of the art monitors measure the level of CO2,O2,N2O, & Aneasthetic agent in the inspired air as well as ECG,BP, Heart & respiration rate & blood O2 saturation. This additional information aids in the monitoring & therefore safety of any anesthetic.

New Blood Analyser
We have just commissioned our brand new Arkray Spotchem blood analyser machine. This will enable us to have blood results available within minutes. This is obviously invaluable for sick animals but also allows us to perform pre-anaesthetic blood tests on the day of the procedure.

Welcome back Jenneane
Jeneanne Hardie Neil has returned back to the clinic after taking 12 months maternity leave. Jenneane has been with us for the last 4 years and we welcome her back full time. Unfortunately we have to say good bye to Virginia Campbell who is returning to Wales.

Microchipping reunites pet
Last week we had reunited a pet with it's owner because it had been microchipped. The dog did have a phone number on it's collar but this turned out to be an old inva lid number and as the dog had just moved up from Hamilton , there was a very good chance we would not have found the owner without the microchip- just 30 seconds to log onto the website and we had the owners correct contact details

New Vaccine for gum disease
A new vaccine to help prevent gum disease in dogs has been launched. Designed to immunise your dog agaisn't the 3 main disease producing bacteria in the mouth it can help to significantly reduce the incidence of gum disease.
